Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are the proud parents of children from various countries like Cambodia, Ethiopia and Vietnam, but friend Wyclef Jean expressed his hopes that the high-profile couple would get their next adopted child from Haiti, his homeland.
“Brad and Angie, please! Please adopt a child from Haiti!” the legendary musician pleaded to Usmagazine.com during the Nickelodeon Mega Music Fest in New York City last Saturday.
Jean’s plea was not impossible, since Jolie told CNN that she was open to the idea of adopting a Haitian kid while visiting the country last February.
“I’m always open to children around the world. We’re that kind of family. Brad and I talk about that”, Jolie claimed. “But that’s not what we’re focusing on at this time, by any means”.
Since the destructive earthquakes that occurred in Haiti at the beginning of the year, Jean stated that the couple had contributed to his relief efforts.
“I have so many celebrity friends who have really supported this cause and who continue to support this cause”, the singer/songwriter said. “Our job is to help those little kids, to give them a chance. If we give them a chance they’ll have a better tomorrow”.
This is not the first time that Jean had offered parenting advice to the couple. Back in April, he divulged to Us that he and Jolie talked when both of them were visiting Haiti.
“I remember my last conversation with her was probably about the baby’s [Zahara] hair and how it was rough”, he stated. “Now they use [hair product] Carol’s Daughter for her”.
