Steven Tyler to sue if Aerosmith replaces him

Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler won’t let his band replace him and will take legal actions to stop the new management from booting him out of the rock group.

Tyler and his lawyer Skip Miller sent a letter to the band’s manager Howard Kaufman, requesting them to “immediately cease and desist from engaging in acts and conduct to the harm and detriment of your own client, Aerosmith, and our client who is one of its members”.

Miller reportedly planned a meeting with the band’s management to discuss matters like the upcoming tours in Europe and South America this year and the recording of a new album. “We reserve all of our legal rights and remedies in this matter, including, without limitation, pursuing legal action for damages and other appropriate relief” he added.

Miller also explained that Tyler did not want lawsuits. “We do not want to go in that direction. The direction we want is Aerosmith, with Steven Tyler, touring in Europe, touring Latin America, releasing a new album”.

However, Aerosmith’s management gave no comment on the issue. Miller said there was no response yet from the band’s representatives.

In case the band continues to look for a replacement for Tyler, Miller said, “We’ll cross that bridge if and when we come to it. I hope we don’t. I don’t think we will”.

The 61-year-old lead singer is currently going through therapy for his addiction to painkillers that was triggered by orthopaedic problems.

Miller also mentioned that Tyler would be ready for performances at the scheduled tours in Europe and South America later this year. He is also writing songs for their new album.
