Pam Anderson to hit DWTS

‘Dancing With The Stars’ will feature actress Pamela Anderson, together with 80-year-old Buzz Aldrin, a former astronaut, as part of its cast in its upcoming episodes.

Kate Gosselin, who grabbed the media spotlight, thanks to the ‘Jon and Kate plus 8’ reality show, will also appear on the highest-ranked show of the ABC network that features celebrities paired with professional dancers in a ballroom dancing competition.

The 10th season of Dancing With The Stars, which is second to Fox’s ‘American Idol’ as the most viewed show on American television and based on UK’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, will start on March 22.

Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls, Shannen Doherty of the Beverly Hills 90210 fame, Erin Andrews of ESPN, UK TV star Aiden Turner and comic Niecy Nash are part of the bill. Sporting figures like NFL star Chad Ochocinco and Olympian Evan Lysacek will participate as well.

“These actors, athletes, musicians, reality stars, astronauts (!!) and where-are-they-now personalities start out as lumbering Frankensteins with two left feet, and they slowly transform (we hope) into graceful twinkle-toed Baryshnikovs”, said the production team on the Web site of the show.

Donny Osmond, who won last year’s competition, became the oldest winner of the show at 52 years of age. Last November, the programme’s final showdown attracted 19.2 million viewers, yet it was considered the lowest rated finale in its airing history.

Dancing’s previous winners include TV host and model Brooke Burke, Olympic gymnast and gold medallist Shawn Johnson, Olympic gold medallist figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi, and Brazilian car racing driver Helio Castroneves.
