Lindsay Lohan will remain as Emanuel Ungaro’s artistic adviser albeit the harsh criticisms on her debut collection, the fashion house’s Pres. and CEO Mounir Moufarrige announced on Tuesday.

Lohan’s creation, which was showcased in October at the Paris fashion week, was selling well, although, not as much as expected, said Moufarrige.

The prodigal Hollywood star partnered with the Paris-based fashion house to help appeal to young consumers as it is considered an aging brand.

Lohan’s collection mirrors her Hollywood image as a party girl with her skimpy pink dresses and blazers clad on her bare skin.

She also stirred the paparazzi into an uproar, during the show at the Louvre museum, the kind of frenzy that Ungaro was expecting.

However, Lohan’s bra tops and nipple pasties jarred critics, who slammed the collection.

Moufarrige said in an interview with the Associated Press, “The criticism was harsh. I am sure we can do better in the collection to be honest but I think it was harsh. But it did sell well.”

He also said that Ungaro collections ought to be more tight and identity-driven.

The partnership with the 23-year-old actress is similar to the risks that luxury brands encountered in the past when they associated their image with celebrities.

For instance, Dior faced a public relations blow last year when its model and actress, Sharon Stone, commented harshly on the earthquake in China.

“There is more buzz definitely, but we are in a recession,” Moufarrige said.
