For the past two seasons, men have dominated the title, American Idol. Last year, it was crowned to Kris Allen and the year before it was given to David Cook. Next year, there will be a big change of direction. Randy Jackson, ‘American Idol’ permanent judge, has revealed his predictions for next season’s search for the best and talented singers in America.
According to Jackson, ladies will rule next season. He said that girls haven’t been winning the title for a long time. During the auditions, he noticed a lot of interesting and talented ladies that may clinch the winning spot.
The last lady to win ‘AI’ was Jordin Sparks in 2007.
He also described next ‘AI’ season as different and very interesting. Last season’s judges will all be returning to the show except for Paula Abdul, who decided not to come back. As her permanent replacement, talk show host Ellen de Generes will fill in the position as the new fourth judge.
Jackson said that Ellen would bring an easy and light side to the show. He added that Ellen may not be as much of a music fanatic as her co-judges, and he later claimed that the panel doesn’t need one more judge from the music industry.
Also, Jackson assured everyone that the addition of Ellen to the show will not create any awkward situation with Simon Cowell. He added that Ellen, who is known for her easy-going attitude, will get along with Cowell just fine.
