Kate Gosselin didn’t want to blurt out the name of estranged husband Jon directly during her conversation with TV host Ellen DeGeneres. But the reality TV mother of eight kids, whose appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” will be aired on Wednesday, emphasised that her children are her priority and not taking grand vacations or getting a new job. The statement is a likely subtle blow against ex-husband Jon who recently went to St. Tropez and Las Vegas.
“I’m telling you the root of my heart everything about me. I am a mother first,” Gosselin told Ellen. “I will always be a mother and I would die for my kids if need be… there is nothing I would do to put them in danger. My focus is them. It’s not the paparazzi. My focus is not what trip I can go on or what shows I can do as a result of this thing. This is my job. This is my paycheck and so this is what I do.”
When the TV show host asked her about the possibility of dating someone new, Gosselin replied, “The thought has crossed my mind. I’m not thinking about it [now]. At some point, it’s going to be scrutinized. Let’s not talk about it.”
Gosselin also told Ellen that she will replace her wedding ring for her children.
“At some point, I talked to the kids, it came up very naturally and I said ‘I’m not going to be wearing this ring very much longer.’ They said, ‘Oh, why?’ I said, ‘Because I’m not going to be married to Daddy anymore… I found a ring that had eight little diamonds surrounded by mother of pearl…They were very excited about that because it’s the symbol of me and the kids together forever.”
