Reality TV mom Kate Gosselin spoke to Today’s Show Natalie Morales and revealed that she still loves her estranged husband, Jon. “A part of me always will [love Jon],” the 34-year-old said during the show which will be aired on TLC Monday night. “It’s hard to be married to somebody for 10 years and try to say ‘No, I don’t love them anymore.’ It doesn’t work really well. I love the memories that we have together.”
The onetime nurse also responded to Morales’ argument that she may be able to find peace if she turns away from the limelight. Kate admitted that she can’t leave her situation and she cannot afford to turn her back against the source of her income.
“At this point, I can’t go back,” Kate said. “I signed up for a reality show, I didn’t sign up to be a tabloid staple.”
Meanwhile, in response to the claims that she has been harming her kids by exposing them to the media spotlight, Kate commented that the allegations are untrue.
“Coming from a mom who laid on bed rest from the time I found I was pregnant — from seven weeks pregnant to 30 weeks — and would not put anything in my mouth that would harm them, and fought for every second of their existence, I can tell you there is nothing that would ever force me to put them in harm’s way,” Kate said.
Kate also admitted that the divorce was extremely difficult for her children. “They all to a degree say I wish mommy and daddy could be here at the same time, and to that I say, I do too.”
