Despite chronically deceiving his wife at the time of their marriage, Jesse James asserted that Sandra Bullock still found it in her heart to feel proud of her estranged husband when he decided to seek treatment in rehab.
“I just told her I was going to get some help”, James divulged to ABC’s Nightline during an interview that will be aired on Tuesday.
He also claimed that Bullock agreed on his plans, and that the award-winning actress was “proud” of him for seeking therapy.
The 41-year-old owner of West Coast Choppers garage said that the revelations of his infidelity might not even surprise his 45-year-old Oscar-winning wife. “I think she’s had her suspicions in the past, but, you know, I lied and lied my way out of it”, James said. “I lied to everyone about everything, even to myself”.
When the scandal emerged, James maintained that he told Bullock “basically everything” about his mistakes.
James also refuted that he is a racist, in spite of the viral photo that emerged while he was still in rehab that showed him in a Nazi hat and pose. “I could tell by the look on my face [in the photo] it was a joke that was funny then, probably for a minute. But then looking at it in the context of now and in my life, it’s not funny”, the motorcycle mogul stated. “There’s not a racist bone in my body”.
