Jesse James has asserted in an interview that he knew his wife Sandra Bullock would eventually learn about his infidelity and that he intended for her to discover his philandering ways because the act of deceiving her made him sick.

“When I was doing it, you know, one, I knew it was horrible, it made me feel horrible”, the motorcycle mogul told ABC’s Nightline in an interview which is set to air on Tuesday. “And two, I knew I would get caught eventually, and I think I wanted to get caught. … It was me trying to self-sabotage my life”.

When asked why he would hurt someone who he claimed to be the most significant person in his life, James had a hard time answering. “It’s hard for me to talk about, a little bit, because I still really love her and care about her”, he stated.

However, the 41-year-old owner of West Coast Choppers knew about the intensity of that pain. “I’ve spent my whole life with the kids and with her trying to … protect her from everything, but the most hurt she’s ever been caused is by the person that wanted to protect her”, he quipped.

In an earlier teaser video for the show, James confessed, “I took a pretty amazing life and marriage … and threw it away.”

The claims regarding his infidelity came immediately after his 45-year-old wife won an Oscar for her leading role in the film ‘The Blind Side’ last March.

In the interview, James will also talk about whether Bullock had an inkling about his affairs, the reason for his entering rehab, and his possible role in the life of Louis, Bullock’s adopted son.
