Jackson brothers share sentiments on “This Is It”

The brothers of the late Michael Jackson were all praises for “This Is It”. The King of Pop’s brother Jackie spoke to Access Hollywood’s Tony Potts at the premier’s after party and described the momentous occasion as “bittersweet” and Michael’s performance as “electrifying”.

“It’s a bittersweet moment for us because, as you know, [we just had] the passing of our brother, but [on] the same token, I wanted to see Michael do his thing and he was electrifying,” he said.

When asked if Michael was looking down from heaven, Jermaine responded with a yes. “Absolutely he’s smiling and I’m very, very proud of him very, very proud,” he said. “As his older brother, I’m extremely proud.”

Marlon added that his brother would have been overwhelmed with how the world has responded. “He would appreciate that the fans across the globe respect his work, appreciate his work,” said Marlon. “That’s all we want people to do.”

Katherine Jackson and Michael’s sisters, on the other hand, expressed that they are not watching the film for now. “They’re going to see it when it they’re ready to see it,” Marlon commented. “And if it’s never, then it’s never, but we respect that.”

“It’s very tough, because you’ve got to realise we look at the message, we look at the entertainment, [Katherine] looks at her child. That’s her child, she lost him so she looks beyond what is [on the screen],” Jermaine added.

Meanwhile, Prince Michael I, Paris and Blanket, will view their father’s film privately; despite reports earlier that the three will be attending the Tuesday premier.

“They’re going to see it on their own time, but at home,” Jackie said. “It’s already been arranged.”
