Daniel Radcliffe applauds Robert Pattinson. His co-star in the fourth “Harry Potter” film “Goblet of Fire”, which came out in 2005, has become a household name since appearing in the “Twilight” series as the vampire Edward Cullen. And Radcliffe sees how well Pattinson has handled fame so far.
“I wouldn’t have any advice,” Radcliffe said. “He seems to be coping well.”
“I haven’t spoken to Robert since we saw each other at the opening of a gallery three years ago,” said Radcliffe of Pattinson who played Cedric Diggory, the Quidditch captain, in the Harry Potter movie. “We’ve been sort of exchanging advice through journalists, bizarrely.”
With the launch of “New Moon”, the 2nd instalment from the Twilight series, Pattinson over the past two weeks has been mobbed by thousands of fans, while promoting his film worldwide.
“It is totally mad, when people are screaming and going absolutely insane for you,” Radcliffe commented on the attention given by fans. “Particularly with Robert – the amount of women that would jump on him – you have to keep it in some kind of perspective, by thinking ‘well, partly they like me and partly they are just attracted to the character’.”
The Harry Potter star added: “As long as you don’t think ‘oh yeah, God they’re all doing this – I must be absolutely fantastic’. As long as you do that, you should be all right.”
As for Pattinson, he does know how to handle a mob of screaming fans. The actor said, “I always find myself wearing a lot of layers as well so they can’t see you hyperventilating.”
