Emma Watson, who is famous for her role as Hermione on the ‘Harry Potter’ series, was dubbed as Hollywood’s highest-paid female celebrity, according to a poll made by Vanity Fair.
Watson, who is currently working on high-profile promotional fashion campaigns, was reported to have earned more than $30 million last year. Overall, Watson came in at 14th, beating Cameron Diaz, the only other woman included in the top 20.
Watson’s Harry Potter co-stars Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe were also included in the list, appearing 15th and sixth respectively. According to sources, Radcliffe made about $41 million, and Grint earned about as much as Watson.
Michael Bay, director of the hit film ‘Transformers’, grabbed the number one spot, followed by film director Steven Spielberg. Bay was said to have taken home more than $125 million last year.
James Cameron, the director of the record-breaking blockbuster ‘Avatar’, was fourth on the list.
Actors Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Nicolas Cage, Russell Crowe, and Owen Wilson were all listed as some of Hollywood’s highest earners.
The Vanity Fair’s list also takes into consideration the various activities a celebrity participates in, such as modelling and sponsorships. The poll is not only limited to movie projects.
Based on the records released by Forbes last July, Angelina Jolie topped the ‘highest paid actresses’ list in Hollywood, earning roughly $27 million from June 2008 to June 2009.
