Hollywood stars continue reaching out and sharing their fortune to the survivors of the Haiti earthquake. George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio are donating sums of money to efforts that are helping the people of the Caribbean country.

Clooney will officially give his $1-million donation during the celebrity telethon “Hope for Haiti Now”.

Clooney has been organising the programme and was reportedly been up for three days as part of his efforts to set up the telecast, which will be aired on four major US networks, cable channels and Internet websites.

Among the other celebrities who are expected to participate are Robert Pattinson and Brad Pitt. Performances by Madonna and Beyonce will also be featured.

Meanwhile, DiCaprio has also made a $1-million donation, which will go to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund to help immediate needs and recovery efforts.

DiCaprio’s donation was given through his own foundation, the Leonardo DiCaprio Fund, which was founded to promote awareness of environmental issues.

Former President Bill Clinton expressed his appreciation of celebrities who are making efforts to support the Haitian earthquake victims. “I am grateful for the generous gift Leonardo DiCaprio and his Foundation have made in support of our Clinton Bush Haiti Fund”, he said.

He added, “Combined with the outpouring of donations from Americans and citizens around the world of all means, this support will go a long way to help save more lives, reach more people with emergency assistance, and help the Haitian people build their nation back stronger and more secure than it was before the earthquake”.
