Brad and Angelina sue newspaper for rumors

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are filing a lawsuit against the newspaper ‘News Of The World’ after it published allegations regarding their relationship.

The story, which was published on 24 January, stated that Pitt and Jolie have already decided to go their separate ways and agreed on dividing their assets and custody of their kids.

Keith Schilling, the lawyer of the couple, said that the allegations were ‘false and intrusive’. He added that the couple has also asked for the newspaper company to retract all the allegations they have made, which have since been republished afterwards by various news outlets.

Sorrell Trope, a divorce attorney, was also rumoured to have been in communications with Pitt and Jolie. Trope denied the allegations and said that he had never encountered them.

“I have had no contact from… Angelina Jolie and / or Brad Pitt”, mentioned Trope in a statement. “I have never met… your clients or had any involvement with either of them. The foregoing is true with respect to all other members of this firm”.

This statement from Trope was in response to the newspaper’s allegations that the couple had visited a divorce attorney last December, and that both parties have already reached an agreement about their children’s custody and assets.

The News Of The World added that both parties have already signed the agreement last month. The newspaper’s spokesperson was not able to comment during press time.
