Despite the recent controversies about their rumoured split-up, glamour couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie went as a couple to the Director’s Guild of America Awards night on Sunday.
The couple attended this year’s ceremony to support Pitt’s movie ‘Inglourious Basterds’, for which director Quentin Tarantino was nominated.
Pitt cheerfully presented the award for Tarantino while Jolie was laughing all throughout. Pitt and his ‘Inglourious Basterds’ director then proceeded to the pressroom after the presentation. However, reporters were not allowed to ask him any questions.
The couple shunned away from the red carpet attention although some reports said that they were close to each other during the ceremony.
Pitt was expected to attend the DGA awards, but Jolie’s appearance surprised the crowd after rumours about their breakup have been spreading in the past few days.
The couple missed this year’s Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards, sparking rumours on their breakup. According to rumours, Jolie will also not attend the Academy Awards this year because of other commitments.
Their attendance at the DGA was considered by many as a wise decision since it shows their support to the director who helped them reach the peak of their acting careers.
Meanwhile, the couple’s rumoured split-up may be similar to the earlier incidents involving Pitt and former wife Jennifer Aniston who walked on the beach shortly before their separation.
